Authentication
Token passed as Bearer header or query parameter. No-auth requests allowed up to 50K/month but with reduced rate limits. Token significantly increases rate limits.
Pricing
Free tier is generous and doesn't require a credit card. Bulk CSV downloads and database downloads on paid tiers. Privacy detection requires paid plan.

Known Gotchas
- ⚠ Privacy detection (VPN/proxy/Tor) requires a paid plan - free tier returns null for these fields
- ⚠ IPv6 addresses return less granular location data than IPv4 for many regions
- ⚠ Bogon/private IP ranges (192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x) return a bogon flag rather than location data
- ⚠ Batch lookup endpoint accepts up to 1000 IPs per request and is much more efficient than individual calls
- ⚠ ASN data is included by default but ASN details require the '/asn' endpoint or org field parsing
